Abstract

The first cancer plan (2003-2007) defined the announcement plan, which is based on four points: a medical and a paramedical time, an effective access to supportive care and improved communication with general practitioners. The announcement consultation is not the diagnosis announcement consultation, but that of the personalized care plan. It happens after the multidisciplinary meeting. A proposal of a paramedical specific consultation is mandatory. It is a major part of this plan which aim is to inform and reassure the patient and his family circle. It is conducted by a specialized and dedicated member of the paramedical team. Its major difficulty arises from its lack of financial plan. All the elements from this announcement plan must be recorded and are mandatory to get an oncology agreement.
