3D Printing (CHU)

The Besançon University Hospital has equipped itself with a multidisciplinary medical modeling, planning and 3D printing platform. This platform allows all CHU teams to produce, using data from medical imaging, computer-aided design (CAD) software or any other source to obtain standard 3D files of the type .stl (or other):
- standard or modified virtual anatomical models,
- virtual operating plans from previously obtained anatomical models,
- printing of 3D objects (anatomical models, prototypes of medical devices or other) to optimize patient care.

To do this, the platform is equipped with 3 dedicated computer workstations, software meeting European regulations for medical 3D printing (CE marking), 7 latest generation printers allowing the printing of hard and soft objects. , transparent or opaque, in biocompatible materials or not.

This platform can also accommodate people wishing to carry out research work with medical applications around this technology (internship, master's degree, thesis, etc.).

The platform is located in the gray building on level -2, in the former premises of the bacteriology department (entrance opposite the sterilization unit).
